LICENSE
VOID OS End-User License.
1. Licence
VOID OS is proprietary software. All rights are reserved, except for third-party components, which come with their own licences (section 6). Your purchase gives you a personal-use, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use VOID OS on one computer at a time, with the self-service transfers described in the Terms (up to 3 in 30 days).
2. What is not allowed
You may not copy VOID OS (beyond installing it and keeping normal backups of your own installation), redistribute, sublicense, rent, sell or resell it, its ISO or its licence keys, or share your licence key.
3. Reverse engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile or circumvent VOID OS’s protection or licensing mechanisms, except to the extent applicable law expressly allows it. This section does not restrict any right that a third-party component’s own licence grants you. For example, you may replace the LGPL libraries shipped in VOID OS, and you may obtain their source code on the Open Source page.
4. Updates
Updates delivered through EVOLVE are covered by this licence.
5. End of the licence
The licence ends if you breach it, or if the purchase is refunded or lost in a payment dispute. Your installed VOID OS keeps working, but official updates and downloads stop.
6. Third-party software
VOID OS includes open-source and other third-party software: Ubuntu packages, the Qt runtime, FFmpeg, ICU, Firefox, the NVIDIA driver and others. VOIDOSS does not claim ownership of them. Each part is governed by its own licence, which this licence does not limit. Their notices are in VOID OS (ABOUT VOID → LICENSES, runtime/qt/NOTICE.md, /usr/share/doc) and on the Open Source page, with their source code.
7. Warranty and liability
As set out in sections 8 and 9 of the Terms.
8. Applicable law
The laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
